The mission of the York County School Division is to ensure the success of

all students through a rigorous and innovative instructional program of

public education that expects the highest levels of excellence from staff

and students.  All students will become lifelong learners prepared to compete in a global economy.

The foundation of the School Division shall comprise a strong instructional program, committed professional staff, strong parental involvement,

dynamic business alliances, and an unwavering expectation for all students

York County is located in the Atlantic Coast's "urban crescent" on the beautiful Virginia peninsula. Situated midway between Richmond and Virginia Beach, the county's 56,297 residents help comprise the nation's 27th largest metropolitan area, commonly referred to as Hampton Roads.
